Supervisor: Faisal Devji
Danish is examining the Muslim trading communities in colonial Bombay to understand the intersection of capitalism and nationalism. Moving away from the popular and dominant discourse of Muslims in North India, he traces the involvement of these groups in trade and commerce that crossed cultural and political boundaries. He is the Amersi Foundation scholar at Brasenose College and was the Martin Senior scholar at Worcester College (2015-2017).
